Commissioned Jewelry Terms & Conditions

Custom & Customizable Terms and Conditions

The world of fine jewelry is weird and wonderful and very complex, and we’ve designed these terms and conditions to reflect that. Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns relating to these conditions. We will do our very best to clarify all information and answer any questions you may have!

Quotes & Payments

Quotes are based on the estimated total price of the final piece, excluding tax. Final price is subject to increase if the client chooses to change aspects of the design after the initial quote. In this event, the client will be informed of any additional costs before changes are made.

Custom and customizable jewelry is final sale and non-returnable. Nine Roses will never move into the production phase without approval from the client. In paying the production deposit, the client gives written approval to move to forward with production.

Each customizable piece is split into two payments: production deposit (50%) and final payment (50%).

Each custom piece is split into three payments: design deposit (20%), production deposit (50%), and final payment (30%).

Certain custom pieces require a stone to be sourced before a design is finalized. In this event, Nine Roses requires a design deposit in order to source stones. A production deposit is due once a stone is selected by the client. Sourcing a stone before the design process is only recommended for custom pieces that are designed for and around a particular stone. We will inform you if your design idea requires this sort of process.

Design & Sourcing

Nine Roses will provide up to three design concepts for each custom piece. Once a concept is selected by the client, we will work to sharpen details and tweak design for the client’s approval. Any excessive and/or laborious changes to the original agreed upon concept can result in additional fees.

It is the client’s responsibility to inform the designer and/or design associate the following: overall budget and stone preference (cut, color, clarity & carat). In-person stone selection is not available for all projects, and we politely request clients trust our expertise in stone sourcing.

If in-person stone selection is available for your specific project, Nine Roses will cover shipping and fees for one parcel with up to five stones. The client is responsible for shipping and fees on additional parcels.

Timeline

From the time of production, custom and customizable pieces will be finished within 8 weeks. Please note this timeline is not guaranteed, and may be adjusted due to weather, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances out of our control.

This 8 week production timeline does not include the design phase.

Nine Roses is not responsible for meeting a deadline that we have not agreed to in writing. If the client has a deadline, it is his/her/their responsibility to inform us upon the initial consultation.

Repairs & Warranty

Nine Roses will cover the cost of all repairs under normal wear for six months after purchase. If pieces are noticeably bent, improperly cared for, or are damaged in another manner, repairs will be performed at cost. We strongly recommend insuring any piece of jewelry valued at over $500.

We offer complimentary cleaning, stone tightening, and one ring resizing on all pieces purchased or commissioned from Nine Roses. Outside of warranty, Nine Roses will perform repairs for a fee. Note, if any jeweler other than Nine Roses makes alterations or repairs to your jewelry, the Nine Roses warranty will be voided.

It is our sincerest wish for every one of our clients to be satisfied with their final piece as well as the process. If you feel unhappy at any point during your project, please let us know. It is our goal to be as transparent, realistic, and accommodating as possible, and we hope these terms serve to demystify this unique process!
